: Tapes from the most recent bio/chem warfare and terrorism program, entitled "Biological and Chemical Warfare and Terrorism - Medical Issues and Response", that originally aired 28-30 Nov & 8-9 Dec 01, are not yet available (keep checking biomedtraining.org, www.usamriid.army.mil, or ccc.apgea.army.mil) for their availability. If units taped recorded the Nov or Dec 01 bio/chem satellite broadcast, they are free to reproduce this and use it to train. After they view, have them register and test to receive credit at biomedtraining.org until 30 June 2002.
: Our sister unit, the US Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense (USAMRICD), Chemical Casualty Care Division (CCCD) will be providing these tapes of the most recent bio/chem program to requesting DOD medical organizations. : An alternative for this training is to view the most recent program as a FREE archived web cast at www.swankhealth.com, then register at biomedtraining.org under the "View Via Archived Web Cast" button. When you are finished viewing you may test and receive credit/CEUs at biomedtraining.org. A certificate of training will be presented after testing for you to print locally.

: Medical Management of Chemical and Biological Casualties Course (MCBC) #6H-F26 (School codes 877 / 879):
: The Medical Management of Chemical and Biological Casualties Course (MCBC), 6H-F26, is conducted jointly by the US Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense (USAMRICD) and the US Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID).
: The course is designed for Medical Corps and Nurse Corps officers, physician assistants, Medical Service Corps officers in specialties 67B,C, or E, and other selected medical professionals. Classroom instruction, laboratory and field exercises prepare graduates to effectively manage casualties of chemical and biological agent exposure.
: Classroom discussion includes: the history and current threat of chemical and biological agent use, the characteristics of threat agents, the pathophysiology and treatment of agent exposure, principles of field management of threat agent casualties.
: In the laboratory, attendees gain valuable, hands-on experience by participating in the resuscitation of a lab animal exposed to a nerve agent simulant.
: In the field, attendees practice the principles of personal protection, triage, treatment and decontamination of chemical casualties. During this exercise, attendees learn the capabilities and limitations of Mission Oriented Protective Posture (MOPP) when treating casualties in a contaminated environment.
: This 6 ½-day course is offered eight times each year at Ft. Detrick and Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. Application for this course is via the Army Training Requirements and Resources System (ATRRS). Requests for attendance should be made through your training branch. The course is also available via several distance-learning products, including satellite broadcast; video teleconference; videotape series. The course is approved postgraduate education for physicians and nurses, and is approved military education for entry on the Officer Record Brief. Dates of upcoming courses are listed below.
