Please advise readers if benzodiazepines other than diazepam may be used intravenously in the treatment of acetylcholine-induced status epilepticus due to a nerve agent or organophosphate poisoning.

I have been advised that midazolam (versed) may be administered intravenously or lorazepam when administered intravenously may be employed.

I have also been advised that the reason midazolam and lorazepam are not used intramuscularly is due to poor uptake or delayed uptake time.

Would the Chemical Casualty Care unit kindly comment and verify these statements with respect to current civilian shortages of diazepam?
